NEW ADDITION TO OM’S MARKETPLACE

At OM’s CraneFest last fall in Berlin, Wisconsin, we were introduced to the beautiful work of artisan, Thomas Tyers. A wood carver extraordinaire, Mr. Tylers was one of the exhibitors at the festival and his display of his work captivated attendees.

Thomas began his carving career at the tender age of 13, beginning with decoys. He progressed over the years to decorative pieces depicting birds, and in 2009 began carving feathers. His carvings have won over 125 ribbons, many for Best in Show, and it is easy see why.

It was, of course, his Whooping crane feathers in shadow boxes and his Whooping crane feather pins that kept his display booth hopping at the 2012 Cranefest.   All the ‘gals’ at OM bought a Whooping crane feather similar to the one pictured here. It looks so real that people reach out to touch it.

Carved from Wisconsin Basswood and signed by the artist, the 2.5 inch feather pins are available exclusively through OM. You’ll love yours – and remember, they’d make a beautiful and unique gift.
