On Friday we sent an email to all of our supporters, explaining that we were still hoping for some funding for the annual MileMaker campaign. The 2013 campaign will kick off in April but we were still short of the 2012 budget goal – likely due to the almost record breaking fall migration speed.
At the time the email went out we were sitting at 95% and super Craniac Pam Bates gave us approval to issue a challenge. Pam very generously offered to match up to 5 miles, or a total of $1000.00. Well Pam, I hope you have your checkbook handy because we’re now at 98% of our total goal thanks to you and your generous spirit!
And speaking of generosity another longtime supporter has issued a similar challenge to help us reach the final 2% needed. This supporter who hails from Florida but wishes to remain anonymous, has likewise offered to match up to 5 miles or $1000.00! This means that if we can raise an additional 5 miles, in any combination of 1/4 or 1/2 or full miles, she will send in her 5 mile contribution. AND the folks that meet this Florida challenge will also benefit from the having their names entered into the thank you gift draw below, as the anonymous donor is offering her draw chances as an added incentive to those that meet her challenge — Talk about going the extra mile!
On March 31st our fiscal year will come to a close and we will also be drawing the name of one MileMaker sponsor to receive a very special thank you gift… A two week trip to beautiful Costa Rica – a birdwatchers paradise!
