Give A WHOOP! for Whooping Cranes!

GAW_btnYou may recall on October 3rd, we announced a Give A WHOOP! challenge. The original challenge goal was to acquire 100 NEW supporters to each Give A WHOOP! at $10, which would then be matched by an anonymous supporter- for the first week of the southward migration. Well, as you know the weather has not been kind to us and we flew once during the first week of the migration. That’s the bad news.

The good news is that during the first week we had a total of twenty-one NEW supporters who came forward to take advantage of the matching challenge. The even better news is that the anonymous supporter had modified their original challenge slightly, and instead of counting the total number of new supporters during the first week, or 7-days of the migration, they will now count all NEW supporters who Give A WHOOP! during the first 7 flights! Soooo, we still have 4 more flights before this generous offer runs out.

To recap, an anonymous supporter will MATCH all first time Give A WHOOP! donations at $10 each to a total of 100 WHOOPS! until we complete the 7th leg of the 2013 Whooping crane migration.

Your WHOOP! will automatically be matched, making it $20. Pretty neat huh? So, if you have never supported Operation Migration before and would like to help us reach our funding goal this year, why not Give A WHOOP!?

We’ll list your name on this recognition page and if you like you can include a dedication or tribute message along with your $10 donation in the ‘donation note’ field when entering your information. ALL of the folks that Give A WHOOP! will have their name entered into a draw, which will be made when we reach our final destination at the St. Marks NWR in Florida and you may just receive a pair of Ranger 8×42 binoculars from Eagle Optics as a special thank you!

So, what do you say? Have a reason to celebrate (other than the completion of a few more miles for the Class of 2013?) Why not Give A WHOOP! in support of these amazing cranes?
