New York Port Authority Killing Wildlife

A March 2nd news story in the New York Post claims that the New York Port Authority has killed more than 20,000 animals in the past two years as they were deemed a hazard to airports.

Among the list of casualties are three bird species listed as endangered or threatened.

    It is such a testimony that humanity looks for cost effectiveness above all. Newark and JFK were built at a time when Marshland was considered wasted real estate. Water was free and disposable. Did no one consider the ecology or the ramifications? I suppose not and yet if seems the same thought processes continue today. Brooke’s humorous “dreamed” conversation, as # 8-10 remarks, “Our only hope is that humans become extinct before the animals do”, Reflects the mindset. Well said!

    Those people and the people who shoot whooping cranes ought to be exiled to Mercury. Either the 800 degree F side or the minus 280 degree F, take your pick.
