Wrong Way Winds

On the surface, winds are from the southwest at 10mph and aloft, from the west at 23mph. We’ll be standing down another day in Dane County, WI.

What time do you post whether or not you will be flying. Trying to view the take off flight in Green County. Since I am 45 minutes from site I don’t want to travel every day for the chance to view? Would it be better for me to just watch the weather forecast?
    Thanks

Duane, we make the decision each morning. Occasionally, we’ll have a good idea the evening prior and I’ll post a Predicting update, but quite often, we simply get up, check many weather sites, put up a test aircraft and then make the decision to go.

In any event, we’re not in Green County yet. Keep an eye on this page and you’ll see once we arrive. http://operationmigration.org/migration-timelines.asp

Good Morning Heather and ‘her crew’. DANG, still in DANE for a bit longer!! NWS says you have slight snow flurries at this moment. Love reading back over some of the 10 years in field journal. (shaking head). It will be a good day because we are still breathing, aren’t we??? Thanks OM . You strive to ‘save’ birds and entertaining us (not primary agenda) . Fund raising is!! Have read much earlier Annual Reports and the cost to save whooping cranes is IMMENSE!! Chat today?? (Haven’t read Chat yet.)
