Whooping Crane Match.com

Everyone who watches the CraneCam has seen the male Whooping crane #4-12 visiting our training site with his new gal pal 3-14. We often get asked ‘what about his old friend 5-12’?

Well, it seems the male 5-12 was holding out – hoping and waiting for some female company and his patience has paid off in spades!

We came across him Tuesday and yesterday, in the field adjacent our camp with not one but TWO gal pals!

Here he is pictured with sub-adults 9-14 and 10-14.

They left with him last spring from Florida….Hope they all stay together so he can lead them from Wisconsin past the “gap” in their knowledge to Tennessee and on to Florida. And when he goes, they had better go this time! So glad to see them, thanks!

Are there really 2 #10-14s in this photo? Who is the other one besides 5-12 and 10-14? Lovely pictures of our former students still!
