did anyone see 4 whoopers south of Paoli WI on Saturday Nov11? I was driving down PB and couldn’t stop, but a huge white wing span flew to the farmers field and met up with 3 other birds. they seemed too short and too bulky to be sandhills to me

Whooping cranes are much larger than Sandhills and just going purely on your description of “they seemed too short and too bulky to be sandhills to me” I’d have to say you likely saw Trumpeter swans. Great sighting!

How wonderful! I don’t remember, when did they start their journey South? Now they just need a few boys to hang around with for some fun in the sun. 🙂
