A recent post from St. Marks and St. Vincent National Wildlife Refuges” “The storm surge dropped piles of debris on Lighthouse Road making it impassable. Our buildings are okay.

The refuge will be closed through the weekend and possibly into next week. The lighthouse lost the steps but no water came in the keepers quarters.”

      ST. VINCENT NWR
      Refuge is closed
      November 15 Archery Hunt is questionable

      ST. MARKS NWR
      Refuge is closed except as noted:
      Lighthouse Road area including boat ramp is closed
      Otter Lake is closed
      Florida National Scenic Trail is closed
      Oct. 21 Bird and Wildlife Tour is cancelled
      Aucilla boat ramp is open
      Wakulla Beach Road is open
      Bottoms Road is open
      Newport Hunt Area is open for scouting
      Monarch Butterfly Festival will be decided later in the week

      Volunteers are not needed at this time. Please offer your services to the communities where more help is needed.

      There are currently no Whoopers in the area. They’re still up north.
