The crane colts are introduced to the wing of the aircraft for the first time...

HR
Cranes #7 and 8 are the two youngest of the seven cranes currently on the refuge at site two. This photo was taken June 24th during a session where they met the wing of the aircraft for the first time. Both handled the new introduction very well.

The oldest group; numbers 1, 2, 4 & 5 don't seem too alarmed by the large white delta-shaped wing over the trike either.

This female wolf and her five pups was seen several times at or near site 1 between June 21-27th. In fact her den is located within a half-mile from the crane training area. As a precaution Joe, Sara & Brian ran an extra hot wire approximately 10-feet out from the cranes enclosure, hoping that if she does decide to pay a visit during the night that a good zap will deter her from future visits. So far, so good.
