Migration 2004

Fall Ultralight-Guided Whooping Crane Migration
Wisconsin to Florida

Date: November 8, 2004 |  Day 30

Jennings County, Indiana

Joe won today's coin toss for the still camera today and captured some beautiful shots of the young cranes as they followed his ultralight over south-central Indiana.
Luckily I had my smaller camera in addition to the video camera and captured the final approach formation as they neared the target area at the Muscatatuck NWR, near Seymour, IN. Above: Joe Duff with twelve - 6 month old Whooping cranes.
Richard van Heuvelen brings in #402, with just a sliver of last night's moon still visible.
And finally, Brooke Pennypacker with his little girl, #419.
