Day Eight - October 23, 2003

Green County, WI - Ogle County, IL

Brooke, Richard & Joe investigate the "engine-out" on CHARLIE-INDIA ALPHA CHARLIE PAPA
At 8:40 A.M., after fixing both Brooke's and Richard's aircraft, the two were airborne over Green County, Wisconsin.

At 8:42 A.M. fifteen juvenile Whooping cranes were following Richard's lead trike - destination, Ogle County, Illinois.
In short order they formed up in two lines off the wing of the Cosmos ultralight.

Crane #317 tired before reaching the intended stopover and was retrieved and crated to the Ogle Co. location. Here Dan Sprague and Sara Zimorski walk the crane out to the secluded enclosure that already holds the other fifteen cranes, including our post-op bird #303.
