2002 Migration South: Wisconsin to Florida

Photos taken Nov. 11, 2002. Flight from Hendricks Co., Indiana to Jennings Co., Indiana
The aircraft wings needed to be mounted on the trikes and leaves had to be swept off.
Heavy rains overnight changed the makeshift campsite into waterfront property.

Brooke leads the juvenile whooping cranes out of the bean field in Hendricks county, IN.

After circling the bean field twice, allowing the cranes a chance to form up on his wing, he began heading southeast toward Morgan county.

Two years ago, on November 11th, 2000 OM pilots arrived in Florida with eleven Sandhill cranes in a dress rehearsal migration south from Wisconsin.
