2002 Migration South: Wisconsin to Florida

Photos taken Nov. 3, 2002. Flight from Benton Co., Indiana to Boone Co., Indiana
The young cranes wait patiently for Richard to get out of the Wild Birds Unlimited ultralight, following the flight from Benton county on Nov. 3rd.

The travel enclosure is already set-up and waiting for the cranes at each new stopover site.

These cranes are benefiting from the wake created by the aircraft wing and surfing it, expending little energy.
